Take part in quiz weekender to raise vital funds for S.E.N.D Socials

Fancy raising funds for a life-changing charity while showing off your quizzing prowess? Well, we’ve
got you covered.

Between Friday 9 th and Sunday 11 th December, you and your nearest and dearest have the
opportunity to take part in five entertaining online SpeedQuizzes that have been specially organised
to raise vital funds for S.E.N.D Socials – a charity that provides social opportunities for children and
young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

The quiz weekender is the brainchild of Kari Taylor, a founding member of Zen 3 Quizzing team, who
cares full-time for her non-verbal, autistic son, Leighton. Like many parents and carers of children
with special educational needs and disabilities, Kari found her social life was hugely restricted. It was
only when Kari discovered online quizzing, through SpeedQuizzing, that she was able to socialise
with other like-minded people while enjoying an hour or two of fun.

Two years on and Kari has teamed up with her Zen 3 Quiz colleagues, Melissa and Rachel, along with
SpeedQuizzing hosts from across the UK, to organise a series of themed online quizzes, with players
invited to donate what they can to support the work of S.E.N.D Socials.

Commenting on the SpeedQuizzing Weekender, Kari said:
“Without organisations such as S.E.N.D Socials, children like Leighton would find it almost impossible
to participate in trips to the zoo or to visit Santa at this time of year. What they do is life-changing,
and we want to say thank you for all their work through this fundraising series of online quizzes.
“Quizzing provided me with a daily way to connect with new people, make friends and generally
have fun, and with this series of quizzes we’re hoping that we can do the same for others, including
parents and carers who struggle to get out and meet people as often as they would like.”

These are the five online Speedquizzes that will take place over the course of the weekend:
Friday 9 th December – 8.30pm: ExQUIZit! A game-show style quiz that will combine general
knowledge and entertainment trivia over a number of rounds.

Friday 9 th December – 10pm: Jukebox Jamboree Moosic Quiz. Test your knowledge of some
classic songs, over a number of themed rounds.
Saturday 10 th December – 8.30pm: Saturday Night At The Movies vs As Seen On TV quiz
Sunday 11 th December – 6pm: The Big Fat Quiz For The Family
Sunday 11 th December – 8.30pm: "I Don't Give A L.A.M.B.s" – The Logos, Adverts, Mascots, Brands
and slogans quiz
